Why would two Australian pilots embark on an arduous and perilous 59 day journey around the world in a GA8-TC Airvan? The answer is summed up in just one word: MALARIA. Over one million people die each year from this horrific disease, and the most tragic aspect of this fact is that malaria is a treatable and preventable disease. Join the fight against malaria!
Take off for the flight occurred on 8 May 2010 at Bendigo Aerodrome in Bendigo, Victoria Australia.  An official take-off ceremony was attended by Steve Gibbons MP, Minister Jacinta Allan, Cr Keith Reynard along with Arvind Mehra representing Mahindra Aerospace - the major sponsor of Millions Against Malaria.  In addition, a large number of people came to cheer Ken and Tim on as they took off from Bendigo 12:35pm with their next stop at Wollongong before they head out to Norfolk Island - the first leg of their Pacific crossing.
